Four Reasons This Generation Could be the Last

Almost every day I talk to people about the soon coming of Christ. The vast majority of the time I hear the same responses over and over again. When speaking with someone who is not a believer and who does not attend a church regularly the response is one of skepticism, doubt and outright indifference. When I speak to people who claim to be believers and who attend a church regularly the response is one of skepticism, doubt and outright indifference. That's right, I get the same response from both groups! The majority of the world today never believed the world was coming to an end last May, nor do they believe it will happen on December 21, 2012 as the supposed Mayan calendar reveals (according to today's news archaeologist have now discovered new evidence that refutes the idea of the world's demise anytime soon. I find this interesting since I always tell people the Mayans wrote their calendars on rocks, they ran out of rocks, GET OVER IT!)

The idea that there will be a day of judgment, a day of reckoning for all humankind, that man really is not the center of the universe but God is, has long been the recipient of ever increasing mockery. That said, I want to take this opportunity to simply point out 4 very relevant reasons our time is different from previous ones.

First, we are the people who have witnessed a Miracle. The Miracle is that a nation separated from its land for nearly twenty centuries reemerged and today is a viable home to its Jewish inhabitants. On May 14, 1948 God made good on His numerous promises to deliver the Jewish people back to their historic homeland and their nation was re-born. This event was a game changer! Why, you will need to read my latest book, It Could Happen Tomorrow, to get the rest of the story.

Second, we as a people have and are experiencing the explosion of technology. Thanks to Al Gore's invention of the Internet we are living in a new world. Time travel really is possible as we watch events unfold in real time on the opposite side of the globe. No one can deny that this new world in which we live is unlike previous times. We today understand things such as bio-chip implant technology and RFID's. We know we live in a surveillance society. Cameras are everywhere and we have grown accustomed to the idea of being watched and in fact, many in our day enjoy the very idea of this intrusion into our privacy. Headlines: more intrusiveness is on its way in an attempt to, "make us more safe".

Third, we now have rogue terrorist nations in possession or soon will be of nuclear weapons and this truly is a game changer! We are the generation who now lives with the constant, ever present reality that the world could be destroyed by religiously driven nut and no, it is not the evangelical Bible believers, nor the Tea Party patrons who pose this threat.

Fourth, the spiritual condition of the "church" in America is a telling indicator of the loss of our moral compass (the following comments do not apply to 100% of the churches but to a far greater number than most will admit). One need only read a days worth of news to see how far we have moved away from the truths and commands of God's Word, the Bible. The Church has replaced the exhortation to Preach the Word with a monologue of feel good warm fuzzies and the resulting in a generation of Biblical illiterate people who could care less what God (if He exists) thinks about anything.

If any of what I have said is true and it is. What are we to do? Great question. Here is God's answer, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son and whosoever believes (trusts, relies totally upon) in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16)

The Mayan calendar is a joke but the Word of God is true and the clock is ticking. Jesus Christ, God in the flesh is coming soon. Is He coming for YOU? Just my thoughts.

Christ at the Checkpoint. Really?

I am always amazed at the believers who place tolerance, acceptance and pseudo love ahead of Biblical truth. Does God love everyone? Absolutely yes! Does He tolerate falsehood? Absolutely not! Here's the issue. Many Christians today have the attitude that the Jews have no right to the land God gave them and that the Palestinians are entitled to their own land. Here's the facts briefly stated. The land of Israel, that is from the Mediterranean to the Jordan River belongs to the descendants of Shem promised to Abraham in Genesis 12, 15 and further validated upon the miraculous birth of Isaac in chapter 17.  In Genesis 17:17-22, God the creator and owner of all the universe declares clearly that His covenant with Abraham and Isaac is everlasting! God says what HE means and means what HE says, therefore no one has the right to the land except the Jews. That said, should the Jews be unkind to those of other nationalities? No, that is not until they start launching missiles at them and their families such as what has and is taking place regularly. Then they are entitled to defend themselves just like any other sovereign people.

So, along come the Christ at the Checkpoint folks
(http://www.thejerusalemconnection.us/blog/2012/02/23/christ-at-an-israeli-checkpoint.html) who somehow think they can bring peace in this region which is constantly in turmoil. The truth is there motives may be pure, although misguided due to the fact it makes the Jews and Israel out once again to be the bad guys while promoting the sinister philosophy of Replacement Theology which relegates the Jews to insignificance in our day.

Please be advised I love the Palestinian people and the Palestinian Christians but we need to be asking Palestinian Christians how they feel about the Jews. If their response is saturated with venom we should beware because they must have forgotten that Jesus was born, lived, died and rose again as a Jew!

What Would You Say if...Part 2

The vast majority of Americans have an attitude of indifference when it comes to the Return of Christ and Bible prophecy. They reason it has been 2,000 years and Jesus has not returned so what's the big deal? In fact, the world is experiencing several things prophesied in the Word of God to occur in the last days and it is sad that most are unaware of the importance of these events. For example, the return of the Jews to their land for a starter. Never in history has a people been deported from their homeland, remained separated from it for more than 200 years and then returned and reconstituted as a nation once again. But, the Jews did it! The ancient prophets wrote about this very event over and over again in the Old Testament and Jesus spoke of it as well in the New.

What about the prophecy concerning a coming Islamic invasion of Israel as recorded in Ezekiel chapters 38-39. We read about ancient countries but as we put their modern names to the places we are shocked that it reads like today's headlines!

What about the prophecy of everyone needing a Mark in order to buy or sell, to survive in the end times? Revelation 13:16-18 is clear that without this Mark there will be no access to goods and services needed to survive. No one could imagine years ago how everyone could be marked and monitored until the explosion in technology occurred in our time.

These are only a few of many, many prophecies that have been given to those who are wise, watchful and waiting for the coming of Christ, and each of these scream it is near.

So, do we ignore the words of warning that we are in the last days or do we heed these words? The decision is yours and yours alone to make. I am praying today you either have or will choose life in Jesus Christ...TODAY!

What Would You Say if...

What would you say if I said, Jesus is coming soon? If you are like most people you would dismiss my statement and me as a misguided and delusional lunatic. What would you say if I said that daily world events validate the accuracy of the ancient prophets as contained in the Bible? Again, if you are like the vast majority you would ignore, ridicule and probably suggest I be locked up for the good of society. I understand! I know where you are coming from. That said, here's the problem. I am not misguided, delusional nor am I a lunatic! Rather I am a very serious individual who looks at world events taking place daily through the lens of the Word of God, the Bible. As I examine these occurrences I see God's hand in action setting the world stage in preparation for His coming and the fulfillment of prophesied end time events.

Jesus said the last days would be as the days of Noah. In Noah's day the world was violent, perverse and wicked beyond description. But that was not the biggest problem! The real problem was apathy! The people were busy doing their own thing while warning after warning was being issued but not heeded. The result was they were caught totally unprepared! Of course I realize academia dismisses the Biblical record of the worldwide flood and relegates Noah to the status of a myth. That's their choice, but I would say it is based more on their world view and liberal education as opposed to study and facts! But this does not change the hard truth that we now have a very clear picture of a changing world that truly reflects the world of Noah's day and is poised for global crisis just as prophesied hundreds of years ago. How so you ask? Stay tuned and read tomorrow's blog for the rest of the story!
